Sunter Switching Station Cleaned Up

Head of Jakarta Cleanliness Department, Isnawa Adji instructed all of his ranks to clean and tidy up the Sunter Switching Station (SPA) in North Jakarta, that has been abandoned for years, Saturday (8/8).

The abandoned Sunter SPA is following with the unrealized of developing system of modern waste management Intermediate Treatment Facility (ITF) that applies the based-incinerator technology on a 5-hectare land.

"I see our lands or assets, one of them is Sunter SPA, unmaintained. It is because the concept of the location was going to be ITF but it's still unrealized, then it is unmaintained," said Adji who was accompanied by Head of North Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-Department, Bondan Diah Ekowati. 

According to him the observation and communal work was a part of arrangement of Temporary Waste Disposal Site (TPST) for handling waste matters in the capital. 

"This location is a waste pressing site that eventually wastes in Jakarta would be sent to the Bantar Gebang Landfill. Most of the wastes are from West and North Jakarta," he finished.
